YES! I made that song up myself (after all I am into song writing), but this little (hehem, I mean big girl) is PIG'N out! We were eating cereal in the morning followed by 3oz bottle and maybe 3-4oz in the afternoon for lunch, then baby food at dinner and another 2 bottles by bed time and that was it. Not so much anymore, holy Hannah Montana! She is almost doubling her food intake. Praise the Lord for that!!!!!! Michelle was able to figure out that she was getting maybe around 450 calories a day and now she is pushing 750 calories or more! WOW! I will need to keep my 2nd job for diapers and food! (smile)
She is totally a different kid! Sitting up now for the most part by herself, feeding herself her baba, and hearing everything (especially my clumsy self in the early mornings getting ready for work, Michelle doesn't like that so much). Her work of breathing before surgery was to me the equivalent of having a nose plug and walking up a medium incline all day long and try to be functioning as happy go lucky child. Now you can hardly tell she is breathing. We actually have to stop by her room before we go to bed and look in on her to see that she is breathing. That is cool.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers, encouraging words and support! All of you have been wonderful. You made it easier to get through this whole process. Give yourselves an "atta boy or atta girl pat on the back" and ultimately give thanks to God for answering all of our prayers.
BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dr. Grifka told us after the heart cath that he felt she was 3-4 months out from needing open heart surgery at this time. Her condition is such that she will not change dramatically. Her heart problem will slowly effect her over a period of time and then we will need to do the operation. For now we just need to get FAT!
I will plan to update the Blog weekly so please continue to check up and post your comments!
Until next time...
