Post Op Update!

Hayleigh's surgery was successful in removing the abnormally large adenoid (found out today that all of us who pluralized this gland were wrong, so no more referring to the adenoid as "adenoids" for there is only 1) and it only took about 20-30 minutes! Praise God! Dr. Scalf (ENT) said that because of her small size and small features that he was unable to perform the procedure with the usual surgical instruments so there is a remote possibility she will need additional "clean-up" done. He said that the concern he had was the eustachian tubes being damaged if he were to have cut too much this time around. We will follow up in couple of weeks to see then!

How is she doing now? So, So. She continues to wake-up intermittently crying and appears she is painful. Very tough to watch you child go through. (I think I am going to talk to the staff here and see if Michelle can get some morphine too!) It has been 14hrs since the little girl ate anything, so we are hoping to get her some food soon, but right now she does not seem interested. Her breathing and hearing appear to much improved though. (not so good for me because I am clumsy and loud, especially in the am) Well I think that is all for now. We are planning to be discharged tomorrow sometime.

more to come later...
