Oh where to begin, oh yeah P R A I S E G O D !
The pneumothorax appears to be resolved as of the 6pm chest xray, the chest tube drains are dry, they not only removed the pacer wires today they also removed the tube in her abdomen, she sat up and ate baby food and continues to slam down 4oz. bottles at Guinness Book record pace! (okay, may be not, but it is close)
We can't thank all of you enough for your continued prayers and support. It sounds like tomorrow she will have the 3 remaining chest tubes removed (pending xray in the am) the jugular central line pulled and likely be on all oral meds. If all goes well she will have only a peripheral IV and the monitor wires on her. All this to say we will be moving to the step down unit(which is actually a step up and consequently a step closer to going HOME) We are anxiously awaiting to see Michelle's Mom on Wed so be more specific about our return date home when u petition the Throne of God!
We (especially Michelle) had an awesome time out w/ a couple (Jason and Angela) who have a baby 2 1/2 weeks old (Ella, so pray for her too!) in the PICU after open heart surgery as well. We went to a Thai food restaurant(which we have never had b4) and to an awesome pastry shop in Greek Town for dessert. I say this because Michelle really needed a good time like this and I am convinced that God brought this wonderful couple along to be used to help my wife as a result of your prayers! Praise the Lord, Hallelujah, Amen!
More info to come after am rounds by our physician tomorrow. We will of course inform u all asap. Thanks and can't wait to see you all soon!
Just a reminder (Dixie) that on the blog page upper left side there is a link for all the photos that have been placed on the blog site.
until next time...
