Continues to Improve

Hayleigh is continuing to improve. We did however have a little concern that had us in the ER at DeVos July the 3rd. Needed to get an echo cardiogram done to be sure there was no fluid around her heart (there is not!). We believe it was pain that was causing her head to sweat and feel kinda clammy. The rest of her body was cool to the touch. We were also concerned about her breathing.

Just like taking your car in when it makes that sound (ya know the one that "conveniently" disappears when the mechanic takes the test drive!), so of course half way through our visit while we were there breathing improved, no sweaty head and all smiles. (mind you w/o any intervention by the staff) There she was sitting up on the stretcher smiling and giggling. I am glad to report to you tonight that she remains that same way, thank God! The cardiologist Dr. Fenrich said that her heart repair looked good. Nice work Dr. Walters!

Boober was healthy enough to take her grandma from California out to the big lake. We visited the Whitehall lighthouse and walked out on the channel. The weather was outstanding! Then we sat downtown to watch an awesome display of fireworks. Hayleigh stayed w/ her nana and papa. She is very sensitive to sound after having her ear tubes placed so she would have been crying and screaming throughout the fireworks. Grandma took pictures we can show her later.

Thank you again for all the prayers and encouragement we continue to receive. Hayleigh will see her cardiologist this next week on Friday. We are looking to hear nothing but great things. We do know after our visit to the ER that her weight continues to go up 18#'s!!!!(I think it is all in her cheeks!) I suspect by Friday her weight be up even more with her appetite picking back up. That girl loves her food. Time to retire for the night. GuNight!

Until next time...
