Making Progress!

Hayleigh continues to work on crawling and hopefully some teeth soon! We are considering going to the pediatrician to have an xray done to verify she has teeth and where they are in position to surface. The challenge is to find high calorie foods that are soft to keep her full long enough. She is enjoying Gerber graduate carrots, chicken meat sticks and yogurt melts.

We tried scrambled eggs the morning on Wed last week before we left to pick up grandpa Taylor. Did not do so well, yeah she blew chunks just about 3 miles before getting to the airport. Here we are cleaning up chunks of egg with limited paper towel and napkins w/ baby wipes. We attempted to use the bathroom (the lone bathroom w/ 3 people waiting in line to use it) to clean her and Michelle up without any place to lay her and worst of all no napkins, just an air dryer! (figures) So I held her on my lap while we changed her diaper and wiped her down. The aweful smell was unable to be covered up despite multiple attempts w/ baby wipes to scrub her seat and the air freshener purchased. Fairly comical looking back, but I assure you not so much in the moment.

Hayleigh's daddy was struck by a deer on his way to work on Monday. Nearly $5,000 worth the damage and almost 2 weeks time to repair. The deer was on a dead run and plowed right into the front quarter panel with its breast; it's head struck the hood; rearend (poop to prove it) struck the driver door near the handle; rear hooves dented lower back door and knocked off the mirror that caused the driver door window to blow out and show him with glass. Thank you Jesus, he was unharmed. A local farmer stopped by and we loaded the deer up into back of his truck so he could process and have a freezer full of venison. OH NO, he did not even offer any for us! Hope his family eats well this winter while we continue to eat beans and rice and rice and beans. (hey it is soft enough and easy for Hayleigh to digest, right?

Until next time...

Dude... okay I can totally relate to the baby mess and having no where to clean it up... but deer collision - that's just crazy!

Glad to hear she is doing so well and you are unharmed :)
