Post Op Day 3: Morning Rounds!

Hayleigh (PRAISE GOD) is doing AWESOME! Just returned from visiting w/ her for about an hour at which time she woke up and was calm and not stressed out. The nurse was able to swab her mouth and she began sucking on it! She just looks so peaceful.

The physician ushered us out for about 20 minutes to sedate/paralyze her and pull out the LAP!!!! We left to allow for her to lie still for an hour or better so the risk for bleeding is reduced the longer she is still. Next will likely be working towards taking out the pacer wires and then weaning her off the ventilator!

I asked the nurse how her bowels were if she had any bowel sounds and shortly after that while Hayleigh was waking and stretching she proved it by letting out a little toot! Praise God! (I know it is odd to give praise for such things; remember what my profession is!) Things are good w/ mommy and I, especially mommy because she really wanted that LAP monitor taken out. Keep the prayers and praises going. Thanks again for all the interest and care! Talk to u soon!

until next time...

Lord, please be with your sweet blessing Hayleigh. We ask that you give her parents and family the support they need to get through this time. In you Lord, we know ALL things are possible. Please comfort Hayleigh and surround her with your Angels from above. May Hayleigh make a full recovery and continue to follow in the footsteps of our almighty Creator. You are an awesome God and we thank you for guiding the doctors, nurses, and all who is taking care of little Hayleigh during her time in recovery. The glisten in her eyes is such a reflection of you and your power. We pray and in your Holy Name- Amen.

I had to check to see how Hayleigh was doing and it looks like she is doing well. I'm sure her mom and dad are very happy. I'm praying for her to have a speedy recovery and I'm looking forward to see the beautiful smile on Hayleigh. Love Sharon Carson (Kalamazoo, MI)
