Hayleigh is taking down bottles faster than the nurse can keep up with! They successfully took out the pacer wires w/o complication. She is doing fine w/ just tylenol for pain and discomfort. She looks like she is ready to just get out of the bed and sit up. Hopefully tonight we may be able to remove one of her chest tubes. The right chest tube will remain a bit longer because the upper right lobe of her lung is slightly collapsed (pneumothorax). Nothing terribly concerning yet, but will re-inflate w/ chest tube.
We are hoping to be transferred to the step down unit by tomorrow. No official word, but I guess wishful thinking mixed in w/ some nursing judgement. We shall see. Thanks to all who have been posting such encouraging words, scriptures, and prayers! We are looking forward to being home.
Please pray more specifically for my lovely bride as she is dealing w/ a lot of emotions r/t her Hayliegh of course, but also the 3 others being away from home and a molar that is causing her quite a bit of discomfort. Thanks!
Until next time...

Just wanted to let you know we keep praying for you all and are thankful for the updates. Today at church is a Day of Prayer - I've just come from it, and there will be people praying until 8 tonight, covering all kinds of things in prayer - including Hayleigh! In the Senior High Sunday school class, we spent some time in prayer this morning and it was awesome to hear kids remembering to pray for Hayleigh there too. Praise God that He is the Great Healer! We are excited to hear that she is doing so well, and hope the road to recovery will be pretty short. Hang in there and hopefully your family will be reunited very soon and you can get back to "normal" ... whatever that is! :)

We are excited to hear that Hayleigh is coming along great. God has heard all those wonderful prayers for you Hayleigh!! I am sure you are happy to see mommy and daddy and probably cannot wait to be held! Keep fighting Hayleigh Joy, you will be home before you know it. Love to you all.
