Surgery is scheduled! ("yes, really!")

June 26th at 7am in Detroit, Michigan the open heart surgery will be performed. The entire procedure is expected to take approx. 5-6 hours. The first hour will be to put her under anesthetic and on the heart and lung machine. Dr. Walters is the surgeon from Detroit's Childrens Hospital a part of the Detroit Medical Center that will perform the procedure.
Hayleigh and the family will be going down to Detroit on the 25th for pre-op testing. We covet your prayers for the whole thing, but the first specific request would be that she is free of any viral infections/colds or we will have to postpone again. The other is the health and freshness of Dr. Walters. He stated that if he had to do something like a heart transplant he would postpone her surgery so that he would be fresh are well rested for her operation. Gotta love that way of thinking!
We are preparing for 7 days stay at the hospital that is 3 hrs away from home, but have hopes of being home in 3-4 days as that apparently is common. Amazing that you could be home in 3-4 days after having your heart stopped, operated on and restarted again. Praise God for modern medicine (I know I am a little biased as I work in the field). We are looking into accommodations for that time frame. Hopefully we find something w/ the ability to cook as hospital food is not cheap!

We will keep everyone posted and up to date daily while we are there as we did before. Thanks in advance for all your support, love, encouragement and prayers. If you desire to visit we would love it, but understand with the cost of fuel these days, it may not be conducive. Please post comments and prayers as we love them. If you have any questions about any part of this please post them and we will answer.

Enjoy the new photos of our little BOOBER BUTT!

Until next time...
